A New Way to Recycle with Drive For 5
The importance of sustainability and how we can make a positive impact on the planet is on our mind these days. Our client, Anchor Packaging, is playing their part by leading an initiative that encourages people to collect recyclable plastic food packaging to keep it out of the landfill.
You’ve almost certainly used this St. Louis-based company’s products, since they are one of largest producers of food-grade #5 polypropylene (PP) packaging. Anchor’s containers are used by the biggest names in US foodservice to maintain the quality of hot and crispy takeout, fresh salads and more.
The #5 food containers produced by Anchor are reusable and recyclable, but consumers need guidance on what to do with their used containers. That’s why Drive For 5 was created. The initiative encourages people to collect their clean, dry #5 packaging and drop it off at an established collection site, such as a community organization, church or school. The collected packaging is then recycled and kept out of landfills.
The Enrich team was excited to partner with Anchor Packaging to launch this important program. We designed a logo for the program and utilized illustrations and infographics to convey the process in a compelling way. We also developed a friendly and approachable website to educate organizations on leading a drive in their own communities and show the public how to participate.
Since the launch of the initiative, Drive For 5 has held multiple collection events and started their pilot collection program at a St. Louis school. We are excited to continue our partnership with Anchor Packaging for the next phase of the campaign focused on encouraging elementary students to recycle #5 — with plans to grow the program across the US.
